This article covers 2 methods on how you may remove the invalid emails from your Responsys lists.

Note to first time users: In order to utilize any of the methods outlined, Responsys requires that the BriteVerify app is authenticated. BriteVerify will prompt you with the following dialog when it needs access. Enter your login info and the verification will proceed. You only need to do this once.

AUTHENTICATE

METHOD #1

ONBOARDING A NEW EMAIL LIST

STEP 1

Save the new list as a .CSV or .TXT formatted file. 

Upload the list to BriteVerify by dragging the file into the List panel or clicking Verify List and selecting Computer.

Once you locate and select your file it will upload and prep for verification. 

STEP 2

There are a few options to choose in the dialog that appears next. The estimated cost is displayed based on the total number of emails, and you will get an option for where the output file can be transferred.

Choose Export to Responsys as your export destination.

Then specify the folder that the data should be appended to using the dropdown.

Another user input required at this stage is to determine if Risky emails should be eliminated from the final list. Risky emails include Unknown and Accept_all category emails and are preferred to be removed as they can dilute a marketing campaign’s overall performance. Simply enable the radio button.

Click the blue Verify List button to initiate the verification process.

STEP 3

Once the verification is complete a summary of the results will be displayed and the clean list will start transferring to Responsys. Depending on the connection this may take a few minutes. 

From here you can click View Details to see a detailed breakdown of the file verification.

There are various download options under each category for easy access.

Use the grey trash can button in the top right to delete the file. Deleting the list from BriteVerify will not delete the list from your Responsys account. 

That's it! Your new list is now available to use in Responsys.

METHOD #2

MIGRATING AN EMAIL LIST FROM ANOTHER EMAIL SERVICE PROVIDER

STEP 1

In BriteVerify, click the blue Verify List button.

Select the service where the list is currently used. At this time we provide import availability from the following email service providers. If you have not linked BriteVerify with the service then you will be prompted to do so.

  • AWeber
  • Constant Contact
  • Campaign Monitor
  • Emarsys
  • Emma
  • MailChimp
  • SendGrid

STEP 2

There are a several options to choose in the dialog that appears next. A dropdown menu of your lists from the original location will load for you to select from. Once it is loaded a cost estimate will be displayed.

Another user input required at this stage is to determine if Risky emails should be eliminated from the final list. Risky emails include Unknown and Accept_all category emails and are preferred to be removed as they can dilute a marketing campaign’s overall performance. 

In addition to removing the Risky emails, you also have a choice of removing emails that have had no activity – neither opened nor clicked for a given period of time.

Next you will choose where the verified list will be exported to. Select Responsys as the Export Destination. 

Click the blue Verify List button to initiate the verification process.

STEP 3

Once the verification is complete a summary of the results will be displayed and the clean list will start transferring to Responsys. Depending on the connection this may take a few minutes.
